Estamos envoltos, seja na grande mídia ou na Academia, em discussões sobre uma série de “inteligências” ou smarts: telefones e carros inteligentes, mapas inteligentes e até mesmo cidades inteligentes. Mas, afinal, do que estamos tratando ao falar de Cidades e Inteligência? Com a integração entre Dispositivos, Vivência, Sociedade e Sistemas de Informação, temos a oportunidade única na história da humanidade, como Sociedade em Rede, de trazermos soluções espaciais em suas amplas dimensões. A Inteligência Geográfica, ou seja, a integração entre a Ciência Geográfica e as Tecnologias – em seu “estado da arte” – permite-nos o desvelar não só do Território, mas o entendimento do Lugar. E, com isso, podemos cunhar o termo “Geografia das Coisas” (ou GIS of Things). Vivemos a Geografia das Coisas, que amplia o horizonte da Internet das Coisas e confere humanidade a ela. Sabemos que essa relação não é somente homem–máquina: é uma relação cidadão– sociedade–tecnologia. Abimael é gestor de Educação da Imagem, especialista em Geoprocessamento e mestre e doutor em Engenharia Urbana. Tem como área de pesquisa e atuação o uso de Inteligência Geográfica na Educação, bem como o desenvolvimento e aplicação de métodos e técnicas para análise espacial de dados geográficos, para além das Smart Cities e Smart Farming. 422 South worked with ESRI's Creative Lab to create a series of data visualizations which sit within a broader brand narrative - The Science of Where. The animation was created for the annual user conference in San Diego - 2018. Over a period of months we consulted various of ESRI's customers to collate data and extract meaning from the data to create the animations; each tailored to reflect why geospatial intelligence is helping to shape the world we live in now.
